Sweet Bloom | Matambo Coffee

The Matambo group started as five members in 2008 and has grown to over 80 members strong today. They get their name from  the mighty mythical pre-Hispanic warrior, and grow their coffee in the surrounding hills near the town of Gigante in Huila.  Average farm sizes are around 3.5 hectares.

Steep hillsides, favorable wind patterns, and the right balance of sun and rain lead to exceptional growing conditions.  Add to this good agricultural practices and careful processing and the Matambo group produces exceptional coffee.  This particular lot is sweet, with a lovely floral note to the aromatics. In the cup we are finding chocolate and toffee with dried fruit like golden raisin.  If chocolatey sweet and balanced coffee is your thing, Matambo should be a go to.
